'The Marriage of the Virgin', also known as 'Lo Sposalizio', was completed in 1504 for the Franciscan church of San Francesco, Città di Castello. The painting depicts a marriage ceremony between Mary and Joseph. It changed hands several times before settling in 1806 at the Pinacoteca di Brera (link).

Condition: (UV-checked)

- In general in quite good and hangable condition, with the usual minor wear to the borders (most probably due to a former framing). 

- The UV-light shows foremost the typical colour of the varnish, with minor overpaint here and there (see also the additional pictures).

- Negligible dirt spots.

- Minor damage to the clothes of Joseph.

- A pronounced craquelures pattern.
