Tiberio Matelassè designed by Ferruccio Laviani for Emmemobili is a sideboard made of veneered panels with elements in veneered multilayer wood, worked on matelassé effect. The base in burnished hand-brushed brass and inner parts in the same veneer of the structure.
Born in 1960, Ferruccio Laviani is part of a generation of Italian designers who rose to fame in the 1990's by joining the Memphis Group (movement founded by Ettore Sottsass in the 1980's). The architect really launched his international career by participating in the Memphis “12 Newcomers” (1986) and “Living on Earth” (1987) collections. He soon started prestigious collaborations with Achille Castiglioni or the Foscarini and Kartell brands, for which he created, among other things, the Bourgie lamp and the Max table, two of his greatest successes.
