Both the subject and the painting style betray the hand of Jan Looten (1617/1618-1681), a Dutch landscape painter, who moved to London and York (link).

Condition: (UV-checked)

- In general in good and hangable condition.

- Relined and a faint network of craquelures.

- Minor wear to the borders due to the framing.

- UV-light shows foremost the typical colour of the varnish, with some touch-ups in different phases, esp. left top corner.

- Notched signature in the right bottom corner (SVRois?).
