The lady depicted in the work is identical to a lady depicted in a work in the archives of the National Library of Budapest (see also the picture). The drawing by Karoly Ferenczy of a lady combing her hair (charcoal on paper, title: 'Fésülködő nő', 38 x 28 cm, 1905) appeared in the Hungarian art magazine 'Művészet' (p. 377). The many similarities between the two models allow us to attribute the work we offer to Ferency.
