H 67,5 cm
Applied with a figure of Vulcan, the body molded with a scene of animals fleeing from a fire, an erupting volcano on the reverse, the handle formed as a curling dragon, after the 18th-C. model from the 'Elements series' by Johann Joachim Kändler.
Provenance:
- Private collection, Belgium.
Condition: (UV-checked)
- In general in good condition, with minor superficial wear.
- The connection between the foot and the body showing overpainting, probably covering a break between the two, whether or not it is broken or retouched is unclear due to the overpainting.
- Different elements, from top to bottom:
* Putto: head reattached
* Dragon: tongue with small missing part (small pieces available, not complete), both tops of the wings restored, tail with a small missing piece.
* Vulcan: OK
* Figure on the side: missing a part of the tool in the left hand,
* Putto: Torch restored
* Deer: left front leg and associated foliage restored, right front leg with missing top (+ damage to the foliage)
* Goat: one of the horns missing
* Wild boar: OK
* Dog: OK
