Italian school, monogrammed AB: The dressing of the bride, oil on canvas, ca. 1700

Frame: 115,5 x 101,5 cm

Central on the bride's belt the monogram 'AB' and 'f' (fecit), referring to the Venetian painter Antonio Balestra (1666-1740). The monogram is included in 'The Classified Directory of Artist’s Signatures, Symbols & Monograms' (p. 15). The work was expertized in 1979 by Prof. Dr. Justus Müller Hofstede (June 1).
