The Belgian painter Henri Robbe (Henri Alexander, Hendrik) was born in Kortrijk. He started his career as music teacher in Paris. From 1840 onwards, he devoted himself to painting, with great success. He was trained by his brother Louis Robbe (1806-1887). He died at the end of the 19th C. in Schaarbeek. (link)
