The Antwerp painter Jacob Foppens van Es became free master in the Antwerp Guild of St. Luke on 10 May 1617. He was influenced by Frans Snijders and Jan Davidsz. de Heem and was the teacher of Jan van Tienen. Throughout his life he remained active in Antwerp (link).
