Joe van Rossem was a Belgian painter, who started his education at the Art Academy of Ghent (1955-1962). He settled in Sint-Martens-Latem, where he, together with Fons Roggeman, Luc-Peter Crombé, Martin Wallaert and Dees De Bruyne, had contact with the last group of the Latemse School. He had a preference for figures and portraits as well as landscapes and still lifes.
