A Chinese gilt decorated black lacquered box and cover with palace scenes, Canton, 19th C.

The box contains the original pewter insert.

Condition:
- The lacquer box with normal superficial wear, minor small losses and tension lines.
- The feet most likely added later. With reinforcements and small repairs.
- The pewter interior with wear and the knob replaced.
