A German ebony portable house altar with gouaches depicting scenes from the life of Christ, Augsburg, 17th C.

Gouaches from the Franckenthaler school, which originated after the great religious persecutions in the Netherlands, since numerous Flemish artists moved to Germany at the end of the 16th C.
