Provenance:

- Ex-collection of the modernist poet and writer Paul van Ostaijen, who was also active as an art dealer for several years. In 1925 he bought fifteen reverse glass paintings directly from Floris Jespers, including the work presented here.

- Part of the exhibition 'Floris Jespers - Retrospectieve' in the Provinciaal Museum voor Moderne Kunst (PMMK, now Mu.ZEE ), Ostend, 18 December 2004 - 10 April 2005 (see also the exhibition catalogue, p. 203, ill. 128).
