Two large Flemish polychromed and gilt walnut figures of Mary and John the Baptist, Brabant, late 15th C.

Exceptional in size, overall quality as well as conservation of the polychromy, these statues likely formed part of a large Calvary group.
The rare dotted polychromy on the coats and the very high level of gilding, point towards an important group in a commonly visited area.
