The Belgian romantic painter Charles Philogène Tschaggeny (Brussels, 26 May 1815 – Sint-Joost-ten-Noode, 12 June 1894) is best known for genre scenes, seascapes and animal paintings. The latter is certainly not surprising since he learned the job with Eugène Verboeckhoven (1799-1881).
