A pair of fine Japanese Seto vases with dragons in the clouds, signed Kato Shigeju, Meiji, 19th/20th C.

- Both vases in excellent condition. One with a baking flaw visible on the inside of the neck, hardly worth mentioning.

The visible overglaze mark reads 大日本神戸本陶器店造 for the 'Dai Nippon Kobe Main Pottery Store'. 

Below this, we can see the mark reading 瀬戸清美堂加藤繁十製 for the export company Seto Seibido and the artist, Kato Shigeju.
